Caryn's Story
Caryn is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with Speaking of Speech Therapy Services, who works passionately with families to help those of all ages with communication needs. While Caryn is a general practitioner, she specializes in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, for those who have Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder (commonly known as tongue thrust), and is trained in evaluating and pre- and post- op care for tongue tie (tethered oral tissues).
She has worked in a variety of settings, including early intervention, home-based therapy, and most extensively with the school-aged population in school settings. Caryn is licensed in the state of Ohio and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She also holds a license from the Ohio Department of Education and is an active member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology. Caryn and has pursued advanced training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, Tethered Oral Tissues (tongue ties), Talk Tools, PROMPT, and many other evidenced-based trainings to increase her knowledge and skill set to best help her patients thrive.
